helping young adults develop life skills, executive functioning skills and interpersonal skills as they grow from teenagers to adulthood
Why teen coaching?
Growing up has always been tough, and the only way through it is, well, through it! The job of teenagers is to push outward against boundaries as they work to define who they are, and the task of adults around them is to gently and firmly push inwards to clarify where those boundaries lie. A caring, responsible, invested adult, who is not the teen’s parent, can be an invaluable source of support, even for families who enjoy positive parent-child relationships.
I provide meaningful support for young adults who want to develop and hone life skills, executive functioning skills and interpersonal skills. I get to know my clients which leads to a warm, collaborative client-coach relationship. Working together, we identify areas of growth and then craft deeply personal, meaningful and pragmatic action plans. In the process, I provide support, accountability, and feedback.
Benefits of using my service include the development of important life skills that lead to a successful and stream-lined journey from the teenage years to adulthood. Clients and their families often experience relief of stress on the parent-child relationship as the client receives support in areas of Time Management, Accountability, Goal-Setting, Values Clarification, Brainstorming, Personal Strategic Planning, and a process of examining various modes of operating in school and in life which gives them the opportunity to address specific interpersonal challenges, academic challenges, personal projects, life balance, or general conditions in the client’s life.
